D-Link DCM-201 Cable ModemStrengths: Plenty of speed, small, very easy to setup and install, easy to use manual, lots of bang for the buck Weakness: No weaknesses that I've witnessed. I haven't owned a lot of cable modems to compare with but this one works great for me so far! I've had no problems with it, it works exactly as it should and it was very easy to set up and understand. I had it up and running 10 minutes after opening the box.

D-Link DCM-201 Cable ModemStrengths: Good Look to the item. Carrys the best signal around without to many lost packets. Weakness: Speed could be faster, but that is coming from a guy who works with SONET speeds at work. This product is so easy to configure. The directions that come with the product are so easy to follow I think your kids can do it. The service that customer service offers with this product is excellent!!!

D-Link DCM-201 Cable ModemStrengths: Worked fine for 96 days Weakness: Power adapter. 6 days after the warranty ran out, the power adapter got hot and started leaking. The modem was useless at this point. dLink customer service just said "Sorry". They would not replace even though the warranty had just run out. I own several dLink items and all have worked well. Customer service is actually very helpful and seem to be based in the USA. But, they had no sympathy at all and would... Advertisement

DLink Cable Modem
Strengths: Small and compact. Looks and works good.
Weakness: No DOCSIS 2.0 (although it might not be that important)
This DLink cable modem has worked great for me. It is an excellent solution for those who are currently renting a mobem from the cable company (it should pay for itself in under a year). It is fairly small, and it has a vertical stand, so it won't take up much space on a shelf. There are DOCSIS 2.0 modems out now... DLink makes one, but I wouldn't bother getting one of these unless your cable...
