Verbatim Lightscribe DVDsStrengths: Good clear image and text. Very easy to use! Weakness: Cost is an issue but I expect the cost to go down once sales increase The scribing on DVDs is great but an even better application is on Cd's that will be played in your car. Paper labels jam in car CD players, take it from me. With lightscribe the issue is resolved...

Make some lasting image memoriesStrengths: smooth burning, very good quality image burn on lightscribe side Weakness: price No trouble at all with the burn on either side of the DVD. The major hurdle is the price, probably not the everyday choice for most people. If you are lightscribe capable, an excellent presentation or special occasion DVD can be made.

Nice and Dark!Strengths: Dark image. Weakness: As with all lightscribe.. slow burn times. I've used this media before with my external 16x Lacie drive with the best results out of any other brand of lightscribe media. This is the recommended media for this drive and results show that line art is darker than other media tested for this drive. If you have a Lacie use this media.

What's not to like?Strengths: appearance of the lightscribe label -- NICE Weakness: time it takes to make the nice label, also hard to get into the shrink-wrap. I really like lightscribe for appearance and what is supposed to be the archival quality, lack of problems with paper labels, etc. but I can't say that I like the time that it takes to create, and color would make quick identification of disks much easier and quicker.

Verbatim vs HP ExperienceStrengths: Nice, dark lightscribing on a single pass. Weakness: None I own a Lacie d2 DVD burner. From my experience, the Verbatim discs burn much darker than the HP discs. The Verbatim discs look great! Even the original version (Lightscribe 1.0) Verbatim discs were darker still than the newer HP version 1.2 discs. The version 1.2 Verbatims are even darker still. I recently Lightscribed a batch of 15 DVDs using the HP DVD+R discs (version 1.2). The images on...

Lightscribe DVD+RStrengths: No more Inkjet Labels Weakness: Time, time, time... The difference between Lightscribing a disc and Inkjetting a Label is like comparing Apples to Rotten Apples. Lightscribed discs just look professional. Inkjet Labels just look like, well, Inkjet Labels. Labels don't look professional. The software is easy to use, though a little like Inkjet Labeling software. It does take some time to Lightscribe a disc: More detail = More time.

Definitely worth the buy! :)Strengths: Got them at a steal! Rebate and all! Lightscribe is a great way to create DVDs that will last and look great! Great for gifts! Weakness: Have to do the lightscribe label twice to really get it to look the best (but hey... just leave it running overnight :-P) Slow burning times but im sure firmware will help later. Only a single color for lightscribe. Hoping for multi-colors or something more in the future, but it is still really nice if you don't feel like using inkjet DVDs and have to worry about not getting them wet and having the ink run.

Great DVDsStrengths: Verbatim always makes quality disks, LightScribe labels are great Weakness: Takes 20 minutes to burn a label and some labels end up on the lighter side Overall these disks are great and I highly recommend them! Hopefully color disks are in the near future. They have been great for giving family pictures and video of the kids. It makes for a fun personalized gift.

Being able to print directly on the medai with Lightscribe is awesome. I don;t need to buy special labels adn a printyer to create a labeled DVD.

Verbatim and LightScribe
Strengths: Verbatim is compatible with almost all burners and has a reputation for making high quality discs. Lightscribe is a nice alternative to paper labels which can cause DVDs to fail over time.
Weakness: None so far.
These discs seem to work very well. The price is higher than other discs, however, if you consider the cost of printing a paper label it is worth it. I have almost burned through my 30 with no problems with the LightScribe or the discs themselves. I will be reordering them soon.
