iomega 1TB eGo blackStrengths: capacity/price, nice finish, on/off switch Weakness: gets warmer than my other two external 1TB drives. AC Adapter only sports US connector though it supports 110-230V, no stand for upright operation. my enclosure came with a Seagate ST310003 drive. It's preformatted with NTFS. Performance is very well for a USB device. I did not test the EMC backup software which is available after registration from iomega's web site. I guess the form will accept any name/email.

Iomega 1T ReviewStrengths: Looks nice, and is very compact. Handled backing up hard drive documents nicely. Weakness: Ripping music into the hard drive, was a 50/50 proposition each CD. Then I noticed some of the songs just disappearing. Had to turn unit on and off to get files to reappear. Seems like it is OK for storing, but not for constant use connected to the PC. Seemed to take over Explorer trying to find the many files inside the drive.

Misrepresented as "portable"
Strengths: Lots of space
Weakness: NOT portable. Please watch your negligent labelings-this does not power from USB.
The Iomega Desktop ego is NOT a portable harddrive (does not power from USB). There are online sellers claiming it to be power from the USB and then shipping out this "portable" Desktop model. Iomega is partially to blame for this confusion (naming both Egos), but I guess there is no excuse for labeling a drive as powering from USB on your website and then shipping one that does not.
