GREAT TIRE AT A GREAT PRICE

Strengths: Great traction on wet or dry surface and as quiet or quieter than the factory installed Michelins at a much lower price.

Weakness: No local dealers carry this tire for warranty proration. Discount Tire Direct is apparently the only supplier.

I did a lot of research before I selected these tires, including many owner comments. They sounded like just what I was looking for. An "A,A" rating, H speed rating and 520 on the 'wear meter'. The closest thing I could find locally was a Yokohama a notch or two down the food chain at more than $100 a piece plus $29 per tire mounting, balance and stems...plus tax and state 'disposal fee. I got a...

Yokohama YK520 Tire

Strengths: Price, durability, traction, and ride

Weakness: Only available thru America's Tire

These tires are made for America's Tire by Yokohama (made in USA) They make it difficult to shop for them anywhere else so don't even try. I have a sport coupe Lexus (SC400) and it is a heavy car. These tires handle very well, but I was more concerned with the wearability. My car does wear out tires. And the size that I have to use makes them even more expensive. So when I chose these tires there...

Yokohama YK520

Strengths: Appearance, comfortable ride, relatively quiet, and traction.

Weakness: N/A

I've owned these tires for a couple of days now and they are great! I had the Falken 512's and they wore out too quick. I drive moderately and do not drive alot either. I noticed right away that these tires were quieter and the sidewalls were stiffer, giving the car better control. Wet and dry traction has been great. I have not experienced these tires in the snow yet but I can imagine them doing...

WEAROUT ISSUE

Strengths: GOOD PRICE, GOOD PERFORMANCE

Weakness: WEAR OUT TOO SOON

Bought these tires from discount tire in mid 08. always maintain pressue and rotate tires. got 21K miles on tires and they need to be replaced, that is less than half of the milage claim from the mfg. tires performed fine, just didn't last. i am sure discount tire will do the right thing on replacements

Wear Quickly

Strengths: Quiet & Smooth

Weakness: Wear too fast

I bought these tires in March of 2010 from Discount Tire. In April 2011, after 28000 miles, I noticed that both of my rear tires were showing the tread bars, however the front tires were still fine. Now, two months later, and 5000 more miles, both rear tires are bald and I am down to the front tread bars. Knowing I put a lot of miles on my tires, I regularly have them rotated and balanced.

Decent tire, but expect to buy often

Strengths: Traction, quiet, smooth

Weakness: Durability

With 3 sets under my family's belt, I have some level of comfort describing these tires. I have the 235/45/17 and I first picked these up because they were rated at 60,000 mile and a great price compared to the OEM Continentals. However, the first set went for only 12,000 miles with even treadwear. Discount pro-rated them, but talked me into trying them again. However, I noticed as I was signing...

Bad casings on all four tires

Strengths: Good Mileage so far

Weakness: At 18000 miles the casing are bad

Dealer will only warranty the tread life. Seems to me that if the casings are failing at 18,000 wouldn't that make the tires defective. I would not recommend this tire if your looking for quality and safety.

Low tread life

Weakness: Wear quickly, noisy, handle poorly, low fuel economy

VM Passat TDI Sedan, mostly in city driving. Was a 60k warranty tire, at 23k these tires are completely worn to the treat marks. These are made for and sold exclusively for Discount Tire. Discount will honor the tread wear warranty (pro-rated), but this doesn't refund any of the cost of mounting, rotating, etc. Basically, these tires are poor tires that I feel Discount Tire sells to reap the...
