Canon SD430 Wi-Fi Digital Camera

Strengths: compact, wi-fi enabled, very good quality in picture

Weakness: wi-fi doesn't work all the time(not reliable)

The screen is small compared to other latest canon brand cameras but I got it for a good price. The picture quality is no way comparable to canon 700 IS or canon 800 IS but its decent. I bought the camera for the Wi-Fi capability but I having problems in establishing the connection all the time. But for the price I think this is an excellent camera with this feature set. As other reviewer has...

Wifi Capable Camera

Strengths: Wifi capable

Weakness: Quality picture under standard compare to other Canon brand

The reason I bought this camera becuase it has Wifi capability. However, the picture quality far from what I expected from the great brand name Canon. I think this camera is OK for beginner that need Wifi capability.

Nice camera w/ wi-fi

Strengths: A nice Canon 5M compact powershot digicam with wi-fi

Weakness: a little big hard to configure wi-fi to work

Got one from Amazon when this nice digitcam was on sale. As other Canon SD series digitcam, this camera also provides good quality shootings. 5M pixels and 3x optical zoom could satisfy most of daily uses. Played with it for around a month and liked it pretty well. The only problem is to set up its wi-fi connection with my wireless router, also with my laptop. But after upgraded its firmware and...

sd430 wi-fi (capable)

Strengths: Little - nicely built p&s camera

Weakness: wi-fi capability - is more like a problem (wi-fi capable problem)

I got this camera yesterday - and I am testing it since. generally I like it's design and picture taking performance (flash works really well - somehow at close distance to the subject I got a good result on a fill flash (just forgot to turn it off) without overexposure). Wi-fi (capability) is a nightmare - it is a nice feature to have as a convenience item - but after a day of no success, I am...

Canon Powershot SD 430

Strengths: Wireless

Weakness: Pricey

Unlike other ELPH digicams, the Canon Powershot SD 430 really does as it is advertised. This camera provides a unique approach to shooting without cables with th Wireless Print Adapter included in the box for wireless printing to any PictBridge printer and offering wireless remote capture from your Windows computer. Canon built the SD430 with a 5.0-megapixel sensor, which may seems a little low...

Canon SD430

Strengths: Small, decent photos, Wi-Fi capability

Weakness: Wi-Fi needs update to function stably

I bought this as a back up for my main camera. I adjust property insurance claims, both homeowner and commercial, and need a reliable digital camera. I thought the Wi-Fi feature would be a wow factor for my grandkids, its not something I envision using for my claims work. Therefore, the camera fits my requirements.

compact, Wi-Fi enabled canon brand camera

Strengths: small size, good quality picture, and Wi-Fi capability

Weakness: lcd is bit small and Wi-Fi is not reliable

As any other canon cameras this one is a very decent camera, small size, cute look, and good quality pictures. It's Wi-Fi enabled which makes photo transferring come easy. the only two issues that need improving are its lcd is small unlike sd1000 though it's small but has a big lcd, and Wi-Fi sometimes doesn't work.

Good basic camera

Strengths: as usual, good point and shoot

Weakness: Wi-fi

Good basic camera for casual users, the picture quality is fine, even though not superb. Easy to use, quick start, as other Canon Point and shoot camers. However, the Wi-Fi feature is useless to me, difficult to setup since it requires a static IP.

WiFi Cool, but not up to Canon standards for picture...

Strengths: Canon brand. Wi-Fi capability with full remote control and capture picutres. Sleek and light design. Excellent burst capabilities with low shutter lag.

Weakness: Cannot send emails from the camera as with Kodak's EasyShare One. Limited controls on modes. OK pictures compared to other Canon cameras. Case seems cheesy w/ plastic feeling.

I use this camera for trips since my other camera is a Canon S2 IS. I like the Wi-Fi capability since my other camera doesn't have that, but for quality pictures, I'd still go back to the S2 IS. This camera is nice but I think I'd spend the extra money to buy SD800 with IS. Overall, it works, and it's cheap when I bought it.

Canon SD430

Strengths: size

Weakness: LCD size, feel very plastic

I bought the SD430 because I really wanted a small camera, my S2 is sometimes to bulky to take around. The first feeling when I got the 430 is that it feels really plastic and not as well-built as other SD series cameras. The LCD screen is only 2 inch which is a bit small comparing to other models. Canon camera usually produce good pictures and the SD430 is not an exception, althought not as good...

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot SD430 Digital ELPH Wireless

When it gets down to recommending the PowerShot SD430 things get a bit more difficult. If you're after a camera with Wi-Fi capabilities, and you use a Windows PC, then I'd recommend the camera without hesitation. If you think "well, that's cool, but I don't really need it", then you could save a bundle of money by looking at other models.
