I would say my experience with RitzCamera was borderline comical. I placed my original order for color laser toner on 12/19/06. There was no indication of any problems with the product available (e.g. listed as "In stock, usually ships in 24 hours") I received no less than 8 emails claiming they needed to verify my credit card information. I called to verify 4 out of the 8 times (thinking the others were duplicates) and each time was assured, "Everything is fine, we just needed to verify the billing address, your item is shipping.") I sent them emails inquiring about the status of my order on Jan 2, 2007 and received no response. The first time a human got back to me was Jan 20, 2007. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They even violated their own terms of service about "14 day auto cancellation of orders which are not verified." Awful awful customer service - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RITZCAMERA.COM! Overall Rating

I can not rate ritzcamra.com any worst. I ordered through google checkout for two items - Epson printer and Logitech psp case so that the total is above $100 and no shipping will be charged. First surprise I got was - full amount was charged even though only one item - PSP case was shipped after about 20+ days. The other item was never received and finally was cancelled on Jan 17th, 2007. I was charged for shipping of PSP case and was told there is no - free shipping even for orders above $100. So it was like I was dreaming or what. I complained but the call center employees kept me telling the same answers. Very loyal employees. I wasted almost two months in - 1. waiting for printer 2.investing my money for less refund. Google checkout is a big black hole. Like a trap. Avoid shopping here. Overall Rating

Purchased a center channel speaker which was shipped within 48hrs during the Christmas holiday and the price was the lowest around utilizing the Google Checkout $20 Off Bonus. Unfortunately, the two following orders I placed with this merchant have become nightmares. Buy at your own risk and pray that you receive your order and not become one of Ritz Camera's bank rollers against your will. Overall Rating

I ordered a Nikon D 50. Two weeks later I called to find out where it was only to be told it would be 3 more weeks before it was shipped. They said the lens was on backorder from Nikon. I called Nikon and they said the lens was never on backorder. I called Ritz back and cancelled my order. They were suppossed to send me a confimation e-mail but I have never received it. The outsourced csr on the phone barely understood me. Don't use this company! Overall Rating

I have ordered from Ritz Camera before without problems. This time I orderd a Nikon D80 kit with a memory card on line. A message on my e-mail instructed me to call to confirm the order. Called and was told the the camera is on back order. Recieved a shipping notice that the memory card was shipped several days later but it never arrived. Recieved another shipping notice avout a week later that the camera kit has been shipped, but I only got the lens and no camera body! I got no reply by e-mail so I called customer service and was informed that all three items were shipped at the same time, contrary to the shipping notices. Told to wait for a claim form. Well I gave Ritz the benfit of doubt and waited after the holidays to customer service again. This time I got the story that some of the packages were returned to warehouse. It seems to me that there is a serous problem with this organization tracking the orders. My faith with this company has been severely eroded. Overall Rating

Same experience as many others. They sold my family 3 items which were "in stock". Several days later we got e-mails saying they were backordered. Then came more e-mails several days after that saying the items were discontinued. Shockingly the next set of e-mails were from Google saying the item has shipped and our credit cards were CHARGED!!! I have been fighting with Ritz ever since trying to get credits to my credit card. I have had to make multiple phone calls, send multiple e-mails, and Ritz keeps promising refunds but doesn't initiate them. I am still waiting on a refund which was supposedly processed on Dec. 13th. I suspect accounting fraud and my guess is if I didn't keep following up with angry phone calls and e-mails they would never process the refunds. This is by far the worst shopping experience ever and I sincerely hope they are investigated for consumer fraud. The items were still advertised for sale on their website after I got the notification they were discontinued Overall Rating

I'm very surprised by all of the negative feedback for Ritz. I have placed two orders with Ritz, one for my Nikon D50 and one for an Epson printer. Both orders have arrived in very reasonable time. Customer service was very helpful and were more than willing to price match to other competitors' prices. Would definitely buy again! Overall Rating

They charge your credit card upfront before the item actually ships by sending a message to google checkout that the item was shipped. I ordered a Canon digital camera case that was (and may still be) shown on their website as "IN STOCK" and "Ships within 24 hours". When I did not receive the item, I called Ritz Camera on two different occasions asking about it and every time I was told it is being processed and would be shipped at any time. Finally, after calling Ritz Camera for the third time, I am told that my item was back ordered, then I immediately canceled my order, but they charged my card through google checkout by sending false message to google checkout. They will tell different answer for every call even if you call after 10mins. Please save yourself from a big headache and go elsewhere for your purchase. {{{{{ AVOID RITZ CAMERA }}}}} Overall Rating

I ordered the Nikon D-200 package with the 18-200 VR lens. It was listed at $2149 everything included. It took forever to complete the order because the customer service representative's English was poor and we had trouble communicating. That should have been a red flag right there but I persevered because the price was good. It also gave me time to read merchant reviews which for Ritz Camera were not good. I should have cancelled right then and there but I felt committed and hoped my experience with Ritz would be a good one. Well, when I checked my confirmation e-mail later in the day the package price was listed at 2836.45. I called immediately and cancelled my order. I don't have the time or stomach to deal with incompetents. At this point I can only hope my cancellation goes through without glitches. Overall Rating

Part of the representation of this offer was a rebate. To date, they don't acknowledge this rebate. (1) Don't do business with them; (2) make sure that rebate documentation is in place (as mine is); (3) take issue with consumer fraud up to the FTC - don't let them get away with it. Overall Rating

I was hesitant after reading all the negative reviews but still took a chance since Ritz had the lowest price on a D50 ($430) plus they obviously ain't no fly-by-night operation and they also shipped to Honolulu for FREE. I received the D50 in a reasonable amount of time (8 business days during the Christmas season). Overall Rating

The trouble that I had with Ritz is very similar to what others are saying here. I ordered an LCD TV from Ritz (via Amazon) that was listed as "In Stock". After I made my order, I was told that this item was backordered and would be sent directly from the manufacturer. I tried to cancel twice but Ritz never responded to my emails. I complained to Amazon several times, but they were not effective. I called Ritz and did get someone who said that they would cancel the order (this was about 5 weeks after I made the order), and what do know, I get the TV the next day. Ritz is really messed up. Stay away from this vendor. Overall Rating

Ritz Camera customer representatives are a bunch of lairs! My experience dealing with them has been very irritating. I called them 4 times (almost every two days) in the past week regarding my missing gift certificate orders (since 11/22), and each time they promised me sending the GCs via email within 24 to 48 hours. But I've still got nothing by now! Finally I called in today and asked for cancellation. The lady answered my call shamelessly lied to me that they just sent out the GCs! Anyway, I insisted to cancel all orders and she said she would do. However, I'll watch closely my credit card account in the next few days coz I suspect she was lying to me again. Overall Rating

DO NOT SHOP AT RITZ!!! I ordered the Creative Zen Nano 512mb on Dec 6 - it was (and still is) listed as "In Stock - Usually ships witin 24 hours". I didn't hear back so on Dec. 11 I called and they could provide no information on when it would ship, except that it was being shipped directly from their distribution center. I got an email saying that "it would ship as soon as it is received from the manufacturer" (ie back-ordered). Today I got an email regretting to inform me that it "might be delayed". I called to cancel yesterday but they still haven't received the cancelation. I will never shop at Ritz Camera again - and the next time I'm at the mall I'll tell the retail store I'm not shopping there either. If they lose enough business maybe they'll get rid of whoever runs their online site. Overall Rating

I wish I would have found these reviews before ordering from Ritz. I ordered a Digital Picture fram on Nov 27th and it still hasn't shipped (today is Dec 11th). The product page that I originally ordered from said that the product would ship in 24 hrs. I called customer service and they gave me thier canned "I apologize for your inconvenience" response, but could not (or would not) help me in any way. They basically said that the product is being shipped from a distribution warehouse and once the order is placed there they cannot change it. Are they sending orders by Pony Express? How is it possible, with all of our technology, that they can't tell when it will ship, or upgrade the shipping to overnight? Bottom line: Please do yourself a favor and find the product elsewhere. BEWARE!!! I was scammed!!! I ordered a sony 405 camcorder.The advertised price on the website was $699 w/instant sony rebate of $100. During ck-out, the price did not reflect the rebate, so I called to speak to a rep. They told me to complete my transaction, and it would show at the end! It didn't! What a fool am I!!! I called to cancel 5 or less minutes later, and of course, they already processed my transaction. But they refused to e-mail a cancellation of my order. Now I'm not sure when my account will be credited. I'm totally upset with dealing with them. Don't allow yourself to be fooled by their lower prices-- it's a scam!!!!!!!!!!! Overall Rating

Hi Friends/Ritzcamera Customers, It is one of the Un reliable and untrusted site, I had very very bad experience with this site. I have placed 2 orders for Nikon Camera through Google Checkout and they have deducted money for one order, google checkout says its been shipped. When I call Ritzcamera customer support they say the order has been discontinued and need 7-10 business days to credit the money. The sad part is a friend of myn whom I told the offer has placed an order after 5 hours got the order. Customer Service is very very.... poor don't answer properly, if they receive the call and if they don't like they disconnect. Now I am waiting for my money. Don't know whether they give money or not... Make a wise decision and find an alternate item if you instead of ordering in Ritzcamera.com Overall Rating

While I did not have a problem in speaking with customer service or in the time frame that I received the camera, I was very dissatisfied with the way it was packaged. There was one flimsy piece of tape, and you could hear the product rattling around in the box. I will not know if the product was damaged until Christmas, as it is a gift and will not be opened until then. Doubtful I would do business again. I will update this review if necessary.
