Garmin Geko 201 Portable NavigatorStrengths: Antenna. Price. Size. Weakness: None yet. Well I just got this unit and let me say I am impressed. This is my first gps unit. I was a little worried about the comments such as acquiring a signal under tree cover so let me say I've had no problems. I even get great locks on the satellites in my house. Having maps would be nice but I really don't need them. The track feature works nice. You can backtrack a route and it even warns you of upcoming turns with a distance countdown. 88% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Garmin Geko 201 Portable NavigatorStrengths: Compact, lightweight, high-sensitivity, durable. Weakness: Basic GPS, no compass, no altimeter, no maps. I've owned a variety of GPS devices, in-dash car GPS, bluetooth GPS, handheld GPS. This is easily the most sensitive GPS unit I've ever used. Once it grabs a signal it holds on to it. It is great for geocache-ing, hiking, mountain biking, and many other outdoor activities. However, it is a very simple handheld GPS it does have a ton of bells and whistles but it does everything you need for your average GPS. It is a great handheld GPS unit but if you're looking for a GPS to load maps into or for driving directions, I'd suggest you look somewhere else. 80% of readers found this review helpful. Garmin Geko 201 Portable NavigatorStrengths: great value for the price; compact/light-weight Weakness: Could be a little more intuitive, but manual answered any questions we had; Battery operated only Specifically bought this model for Geocaching. To enter a way point you have to set a way point to your current position and then edit it, but it worked! We found most of the caches for the day...only got accurate within 20' according to the unit, but it could have been a bad satellite day. 60% of readers found this review helpful. Garmin Geko 201 Portable NavigatorStrengths: Price, ease of use Weakness: None found so far Purchased for use while fishing and hunting, I have found it to have more features than expected. the ability to mark waypoints with symbols resembling the ideas I wish to mark is a nice feature. The ease of adjustment is also appreciated. When the weather breaks, I plan on starting to get out and mark important future waypoints. Of course the lakes need to thaw also! 33% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top
