Strengths: Plenty of power; decent controls; looks good
Weakness: Perhaps too big?; no choice of color; expensive; so-so documentation
I was putting together a dedicated home theater room, and wanted plenty of bass, so ended up with the Polk PSW505. I probably could have gotten away with the smaller PSW404, but decided to splurge! ;-) Due to room layout restrictions, the speaker has to sit in the rear corner of the room. This is not the recommended placement, based on both Polk and other home theater resources. I have had no issues with how it sound, and it adds great impact to shoot-em-up action films, and especially the Lord of the Rings films. I wish it came in different colors, so that it would match Polk's RTi and CSi cherry colored speakers. I also wish their documentation was a tad better, as I'm not sure which of the ports on the unit to use, or what the various settings actually do!
