Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 5 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Easy to use, great zoom, good pictures

Weakness: Pictures aren't good in low light situations.

This is my first digital camera but use my daughters regularly. The zoom is awesome for capturing my daughter during sporting events. It also takes continues frames for sporting events which I love. The camera is very light and easy to hold. The menu is so simple and I was able to use the camera as soon as I picked it up, very easy for beginners. I'm still learning about some of the settings and the manual is easy to follow. I've been using this camera everyday for 2 weeks and have even taken pictures 2 hours at a time. I'm still using the original batteries that I received with the camera and haven't had to recharge them. I hate the software that comes with it and hate how you have to download the pictures and save them. I use another program to edit my pictures once they are downloaded. Overall this camera is excellent and I've been happy with the quality of pictures. The only bad pictures were in my church in a low light situation. I couldn't seem to find the correct setting to get a good picture. This camera is excellent and I would recommend this to anyone. The price is great and you know you're getting your money's worth.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 5 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 8x zoom, 1 fps burst, NTSC /PAL Connectivity AA

Weakness: Movie mode 15 fps small lcd

The camera has a 8x optical zoom lens, electronic viewfinder and 1.5" LCD display as the other older D'image series machines. It has full manual controls and internal flash, it powers from 4 AA batteries so you can use rechargeable batteries without problem. It is also very easy to use with Automatic controls for beginner users. The it has great features which one of these is the Macro-function if you consider 5.0 MP, 8x optical zoom and it's price (280 US$), it is a very good buy and especially in it's class. It is also very light when I use with my 35 mm SLR I basicly forget that it is hanging down from my neck.

I've had my Z20 for a number of years and has served me well for sports, portrait and catalog work. It does seem to have one major drawback. When using NiMh (rechargeable) batteries, carry a a pocketful. It's fine on alkaline. The Z20 is a bit power hungry. On the positive-side, for an SLR, this camera weighs next to nothing.

the camera seems not eat a lot of battery. but it eats a lot memory, with 128mb sd, i would only allow to take less than 100 with best solution.
