MUCH better than the windshield mount and portable
Strengths: Does not leave suction cup marks on windshield, block field of view, doesn't move around at all, easily portable to other vehicles.
Weakness: Little pricey, but it's genuine Garmin and it works great
I was very skeptical of this product before I bought it simply because the weight of the package was not substantial enough to make me believe that it would both support the GPS angled off it, as well as not slide around my dash, especially the way I drive with my HEMI, BUT IT DOES. I purchased an open box one at Best Buy to try it out since someone had already opened the package as is, used it for 3 days, gunned the engine, spun sharp turns and fishtails, and it stayed put no matter what. I am sure something could jar it loose eventually, but it would take an accident or extremely sharp stop to throw this thing off the dash, so it gets my seal of approval.
