Good productStrengths: Plug in and self install. Weakness: Might lack power for some attachments such as a printer Used to salvage a laptop with bad USB ports from mother board problem. It was scrap it or get this PC card, which salvaged the computer. Do expect to need a powered USB splitter to run a printer, but still cheaper than a new computer. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

USB 2.0 PCMCIA 2-Port Card is Great!Strengths: Good price point, a snap to install, works very well Weakness: None detected so far... I use my laptop aboard my boat as a navigation computer, and all of my existing USB ports were being used by a weather receiver, a GPS receiver and the multiplexer. So when I upgraded the navigation software and the new version required a USB key, I had no USB port to use for access. I installed the USB 2.0 PCMCIA 2-Port Card and plugged the navigation program key into one of the ports; the computer immediately recognized the key, and the navigation program and all of my hardware peripherals now work flawlessly. IOGEAR GPU202 USB PCMCIA CardBus Card
Strengths: XP recognize it
Weakness: Doesn't work at high speed. Interfers with the wireless card.
My HP laptop (nx9005) doesn't have a 2.0 USB port but
I wanted to use its old HD for backup which I put in a USB
case. I couldn't get this to work at 2.0 speeds. The web
site was useless. I got a COMAPAQ card which works perfectly.
It was the same price ($40) and included an A/C power supply
which I didn't need on the HP but I did need on an older DELL
laptop.
