Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

Maybe the best movie about the near future since Total Recall or Blade Runner (both Philip K. Dick stories too). The product placement can be a distraction, but does anyone doubt the world is heading in that direction?

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

A slick, fast, decent Speilberg sci-fi movie. . .good work but I wouldn't call it a 'great' film. . .

not a bad effort at all. Cruise works in this role. nice plot twists. the future autobahn's of D.C. looked totally cool.

I still watch it every now and then - feels a little like Clockwork Orange for some reason...

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

A disappointing adaptation of the book although few sci-fi movies do that really well. The most irritating thing was that, while I understand product placement would seem a necessary evil in the modern Hollywood movie, this movie seemed little more than a 90 minute commercial with a poorly interpreted sci-fi story wrapped arond it.

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I’m not usually a big fan of movies with Tom Cruise in them, but this one was certainly different. I was surprised to find it being long, as when I was watching it the time flew by.

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

Wow, this movie just kept going and going . . . I don't even know why they called it "Minority Report", since really that aspect of the movie wasn't that big. Anyway, it was just a showcase of futuristic design and concepts, with a mediocre storyline thrown in there. It does bring up a good question: Is fate absolute? Or can it be altered? Otherwise, it's a movie that may be worth renting if you've got nothing better to watch.

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

Not an intriguing movie or even all that entertaining. Nothing more than a "good guy gets framed by the bad guy" kind of film. The fact it tries to establish this notion of thought police is done better elsewhere(1984). The acting isn't particularly good in most cases and there is just too much time spent trying to establish suspense but fails. A partially edited version might be better but it would still suffer from a weak plot and average script.

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

Minority Report is a fairly standard action movie that isn't as thought provoking or important as it wants to be. There are definite holes in the plot as well as many "surprise" parts and big plot twist that you can see coming from miles away. This movie is very slick in its vision of the future and is worth seeing once but it really doesn't have anything to say that hasn't been said in a better way by a movie such as Blade Runner.

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

I would really give this about a 3.5. For one thing this was way too long. I agree with one of the rateitall statements that the arm waving to get piece together psychics report looked dumb. It was also silly to see those psychics floating around in that milky stuff.too hard to buy. There were a few good scenes, like when tom Cruise kidnaps the psychic girl to help him. the thought of the movie being trying to stop crime before it happens, sounds nice but goes to far. Trapping the bad guys in what looks like test tubes. then scene where TOm Cruises character has his eyes replaced,{yuk} since in the future there will be ways of scanning your eyes to know you every move. This is an okay movie with some good scenes but some that are too much.

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

If computers are going to be like that in the future, I'm very excited! The movie wasn't great, but I enjoyed it. The plot makes you think about crime in a different way, and the choices we make. I do not agree with our legal system going in this direction, though. It also made me think a lot about "big brother" and the advertising industry. I would hate living in a world where I could be tracked like that and my body would be like an internet "cookie" receiver every time I walked by a billboard or through a door.

I thought this was great. A film which treats it's audience as if you're intelligent. What a change!

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

I've decided that the incredibly positive reviews of "Minority Report" are the result of "The Emperor's New Clothes" phenomenon. That's the only way I can explain how such a HORRIBLE movie could receive accolades across the board. Here are my major complaints: 1. The plot was flimsy and even ridiculous in many spots. 2. There was almost no character development. 3. The special effects were ludicrous and inconsistent. 4. The acting was a terrible. 5. The movie was FAR too long, and the ending was laughable. There are many other problems with the movie, but I don't have two more hours to record them all in my comment. All I can say is avoid this movie at all costs!

Minority Report Full Frame (Pan & Scan) DVD

I can't give this movie more than 1 star because while I'm glad I saw it once, just so I could say I saw it, I wouldn't want to sit through it again. The whole premise of the movie was stupid to me: I thought it was overstyled and way too ostentatious (tried way too hard to be cool). Examples include those stupid gloves that the agents would wear when they were going through the electronic files, waving their arms dramatically in the air. Lame. Why not just have a futuristic mouse pointer? Or just one glove? Because Spielberg had to make it dramatic and make it look cool. Would've been way cooler if you didn't need gloves to operate the thing, or, better yet, if you didn't even have to move to operate it. On another note, keeping the three psychic folks floating in a pool of ectoplasmic milk was just too hokey to be believed. Also, I think there were some scenes in the movie that Spielberg made gratuitously gross just so the movie "got under your skin". But I didn't pay $7.50 to see spraying vomit, bloody eyeballs and rotten sandwiches. I paid to see a cool, futuristic, thought-provoking movie. And I sure as hell didn't get what I paid for. Apparently, since Stanley Kubrick died, Steven Spielberg has been suffering from delusions that he's Kubrick reincarnated. I wish some of his inner circle would pull him aside and tell him that we don't need another Kubrick, or, at the very least, if he's going to try to mimic Kubrick in his movies he needs to avoid the gross-out factor - a movie can be dark, funny and disturbing without the gratuitous vomit shots.
