Cruel Intentions [DVD] [Collector's Edition]It may have not been original in any way but i think "CRUEL INTENTIONS" was absolutely brilliant.It had a great script,great direction,a fantastic soundtrack and most a great cast( not least the drop dead gorgeous Sarah Michelle Gellar).I LOVE THIS FILM.... Cruel Intentions [DVD] [Collector's Edition]It may have not been original in any way but i think "CRUEL INTENTIONS" was absolutely brilliant.It had a great script,great direction,a fantastic soundtrack and most a great cast( not least the drop dead gorgeous Sarah Michelle Gellar).I LOVE THIS FILM.... Cruel Intentions [DVD] [Collector's Edition]An R-rated movie that is shockingly marketed toward teenagers, this one promotes sexuality as freedom, like too many trashy teen movies of our time. It includes not just premarital sex, but drug use, violence and nudity. The creators and actors in this film note that they had to find a non-obnoxious way to make a modern teen a virgin. That's right, my friends, being pure is obnoxious and unpopular. (I've never heard anything more ridcioulous!) Thankfully, the film didn't gross much, but several teenagers I know wanted to watch it at school. This film certainly has cruel intentions, to corrupt the teenagers of our time. Avoid at all costs. Cruel Intentions [DVD] [Collector's Edition]If you watch Cruel Intentions and then you watch Dangerous Liasons, you realize the difference that world class actors such as John Malkovich and Glenn Close can make on a film. Unfortunately, the makers of Cruel Intentions selected WB actors, who apparently didn't understand or appreciate the importance of chemistry / dialogue etc. in this movie's plot. Cruel Intentions [DVD] [Collector's Edition]I thought this was a wicked, funny movie, with a lot of witty dialogue and good acting. Sure, it wasn't Oscar caliber, but it was just good dirty fun! Sarah Michelle Gellar made the pefect villainess as the bitch from hell Katherine, while I stare at Ryan Phillippe and wonder how he can be so damn hot! Man, Reese Witherspoon (who's also in the movie as the sweet, virginal nice girl) lucked out bagging him! Selma Blair was hilarious as the twitwad Cecile -she has some of the funniest lines, and so is Christine Baranski as her stuck-up mother.The movie gets a little overdramatic and hammy sometimes and the characters somewhat one-dimensional and predictable, but it's still a fun movie to watch. The music is pretty good, though I normally don't go for that teeny bopper crap. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Cruel Intentions [DVD] [Collector's Edition]A relatively poor adaptation of Valmont or Dangerous Liasons. I was unimpressed with the acting or the character development, and frankly, the story's been done a few times already. However, maybe the contemporary spin on the story will attract younger viewers to read works which otherwise would not be accessible or easily understood. The plot went relatively underdeveloped with events happening because they needed to happen rather than as a consequence of other events. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Cruel Intentions [DVD] [Collector's Edition]This is a really good movie to see if you're looking for something different to see. I've never seen anything quite like Cruel Intentions before. Very unique and well acted by everyone. It's not for everyone though, it takes it to the limits and addresses topics which are still considered fairly taboo. Ryan Phillipe plays Sebastian, a wealthy attractive promiscuous young man, who make a bet with his step-sister (Sarah-Michelle Gellar). This is quite an ordinary film with some mixed acting and a painfully contrived conclusion. But it starts off kinda well. (2.5/5 stars) I wrote a lengthier review on this in iMDB.
