Totally would not recommendStrengths: When it worked, it took decent pictures. Easy to use. Fairly compact. Weakness: Used batteries like crazy! Lens would go in and out on its own and had to take batteries out to stop it. It sounds to me like someone at Hewlett Packard needs to take a look at this. It obviously has a serious flaw. I had my camera for one year (just past warranty) and it quit working (would turn it on and it would keep beeping and the lens wouldn't go back in and there was a blank screen). Company is hard to talk to mostly foreigners with deep accents. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Decent Camera ... Great For The Few Dollars !!Strengths: Decent pictures. Easy to use. HP's software is easy to use. The zoom features are great. Weakness: Terrible on batteries. Don't bother using anything but NiMH rechargeables. Personalized settings revert back to defaults upon turning off. I have used this camera for more than two years for my online sales business (ebay, overstock etc...). The pics are decent. The camera is simple to use. But, it does burn right through the batteries. I found real quick that the only way to go was with NiMH 2600 batteries. Once I started do that, I was reasonably happy. The only real issue for me that gets under my skin is the fact that when I make adjustments to the settings... they reset back to defaults every time I turn the camera back off. 100% of readers found this review helpful. HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 635 2 Megapixel...Strengths: Picture quality including in low-light conditions, ease of use, price, zoom Weakness: Battery life This camera is great for family and casual use. I've found that using the flash sparingly and turning the camera off when not actively taking pictures helps preserve battery charge. Try going without the flash on inside shots, you'll find the pictures still look great and your batteries last longer. HP's software to manage downloads is handy and has neat features to tweak picture quality, manage picture files, and set up and print albums. 94% of readers found this review helpful. HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 635 2 Megapixel...Strengths: Ease of use, lots of features for the money, optical zoom. Weakness: Lens cap is separate piece with tether--not built in. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the photos with this camera. Research had indicated that when on a budget, spend money first on a optical zoom, then on more megapixels. Seems to be true. I was surprised at the level of features, although some are reserved for users of other HP equipment--mainly printers. If you can afford it, opt for the dock--it simplifies hook-up and helps to resolve the downside of any digital--short battery life. I purchased this for my business use and couldn't be more pleased with the dollar to value quotient. 90% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 635 2 Megapixel...Strengths: Decent enough pictures and ease of use. Weakness: Battery usage As already mentioned these cameras are ridiculously hard on batteries making them often unavailable when you want them. I bought 2, exchanged one, and then sent them both out for a supposed repair. These are obviously inferior products. 83% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 635 2 Megapixel...Strengths: nice zooming action with good pictures when it feels like working Weakness: only worked well with new batterys for about one photo. was very excited when purchased this camera for it has a 12X zooming for photos and I enjoy getting nice photos of wildlife, but camera lens would constantly go in and out without being able to take a photo, and then you could not shut it off without taking out the batterys, and try to start over and take photos,it would still not work after all that. I would not recomend anyone to purchase this camera without first reading up on the quality and the return policy of the store where it was purchased, mine went back for a full refund without any hesitation from me and was returned without question from them for they said this is not the first one of these we saw. 68% of readers found this review helpful. HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 635 2 Megapixel...Strengths: The photosmart 635 is easy to use and downloading pictures is a snap. It's small and convient. The picture quality are good for family and fun photos, but not good enough for the professional. Weakness: I hope my 635 is defective because it is going back. The lens goes in an out on it's own repetitively and I can only stop it if I remove the batteries. Sometimes the flash goes off for no reason. I am taking the camera back, but I am exchanging it for the same modelin hopes that the next one will not have these problems. 60% of readers found this review helpful. HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 635 2 Megapixel...
Strengths: Can take nice pictures.
Weakness: Consumes batteries very quickly; erases images on its own.
After almost a year, I'm giving up on this camera. There are problems at every stage, from taking the picture to editing the downloaded image. Pictures get erased- "cannot display image." Sometimes the camera refuses to download the pictures; other times, it stops during the process. The internal memory can now only hold a few pictures; the memory retains remnants of old photos. The HP site has info on what to do; I've done everything suggested to keep the camera going this long, but now it's just not responding to any more remedies.
